Basic Course 2 – Brakes & Bleeding

Do you want to understand how your brakes work and how to service them yourself?
In Basic Course 2, you’ll learn everything you need to know to adjust your brakes, replace brake pads, bleed your brakes, and true your brake rotors.
Over the course of three hours, we’ll go through the entire system step by step—you’ll get to both watch and perform the tasks yourself on your own bike under supervision.

NOTE! If your brake pads are starting to wear out, we recommend taking the opportunity to replace them during the course itself—that way, you’ll save almost the entire cost of the course just on what the labor would have cost if you’d taken your bike to a shop. If you’re unsure whether it’s time to replace your brake pads or which parts you need to buy, feel free to stop by our shop with your bike, and we’ll help you pick out the parts so they’ll be ready for you during the course.

What you'll learn:

Change the ink cartridge

  • How to Tell When Your Tiles Need to Be Replaced

  • Things to Keep in Mind When Buying New Flooring
  • How to Replace the Brake Pads

Replace/Align Brake Rotor

  • Things to Keep in Mind When Buying New Brake Rotors
  • How to Replace the Brake Rotors

Brake Bleeding

  • How to Bleed Your Brakes

All steps are hands-on, and you’ll get to perform the work yourself on your own bike with guidance.
The course is suitable for all types of bikes with hydraulic disc brakes.

After taking this course, you'll be able to identify brake problems on your own, adjust the brakes, and bleed them—so you won't have to take your bike in every time the brakes need to be bled or adjusted.

The course requires no prior knowledge.
We’ll go through everything in a relaxed and hands-on way, where you’ll get to work on your own bike under supervision.

We'll provide you with a workbench and all the tools you need. If you'd like to replace parts on your bike during the course, there will be an additional charge for the parts, unless you bring your own.

You'll receive personalized guidance from our mechanics, along with delicious snacks and great coffee.
