Fältmek – Repairs Out on the Trail

Are you tired of having to cut your bike ride short and ride home from the woods when you encounter minor breakdowns?
In the “Fältmek – Repairs Out on the Trail” course, you’ll learn everything you need to know to repair and fix common bike breakdowns out on the trail.
Over the course of three hours, we’ll go through all the common breakdowns and how to fix them step by step—you’ll get to both watch and perform the steps yourself on your own bike under supervision.

NOTE! If your tires are starting to wear out, we recommend taking the opportunity to replace them during the course itself—that way, you’ll save almost the entire cost of the course just on what it would have cost to take your bike to a repair shop. If you’re unsure whether it’s time to replace your tires or which tires you should buy, feel free to stop by our shop with your bike, and we’ll help you pick out the right tires so they’ll be ready for you when the course starts.

By learning how to fix the most common breakdowns that can happen out on the trail, you’ll feel much more confident venturing deeper into the forest. You’ll know what you need to bring with you, how to use it—and how to quickly get your bike rolling again when something goes wrong.

What you'll learn:

Fältmek Mountain Biking is the course for anyone who wants to be able to fix the most common problems on their own, right out in the woods. Over the course of three hours, we’ll go through practical steps one by one, where you’ll both see how it’s done and perform the steps yourself on your own bike.

  • How to Fix a Flat Tire and Change a Tire or Tube

  • How to Replace and Repair a Chain, Chain Breakage, and Derailleur Problems

  • Quick Gear Adjustment

  • How to Straighten a Crooked Handlebar and Tighten a Loose Handlebar Bearing

  • What Tools You Should Bring With You to the Forest

We'll also go over recommended multitools, mini-pumps, and emergency gear—as well as how to plan ahead so you can always make it home if something happens.

After the course, you'll be ready to handle just about anything that might happen on your ride—without panicking and without having to walk your bike home from the woods.

The course requires no prior knowledge.
We’ll go through everything in a relaxed and hands-on way, where you’ll get to work on your own bike under supervision.

We'll provide you with a workbench and all the tools you need. If you'd like to replace parts on your bike during the course, there will be an additional charge for the parts, unless you bring your own.

You'll receive personalized guidance from our mechanics, along with delicious snacks and great coffee.
