Women's MTB Course | Blue

The blue course is for those of you who already have the basics down and want to take the next step in your trail biking—with more fluidity, control, and confidence on slightly more challenging terrain. Here, we’ll build on the basic techniques you already know and delve deeper into skills that make a big difference when the trails get steeper, the turns tighter, and the obstacles a little bigger.

Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you’ll learn to read the terrain, shift your center of gravity correctly, and master techniques such as front-wheel lifts, simple drops, and cornering with better line choice. We focus on balance, timing, and body control—key elements for continuing to improve and riding with greater confidence and enjoyment.

As always in our courses, participants are divided into small groups based on their skill level, so that everyone receives individual feedback and is challenged appropriately.

What You'll Learn

Basic Position – Review
A brief review of balance and movement patterns to reinforce a strong basic position on the bike.

Cornering – Level 1
Techniques for cornering with better balance, line of sight, and fluidity.

Front-Wheel Lift – Level 2
How to ride up higher curbs and obstacles by combining your body’s center of gravity, balance, and timing.

Drop Technique – Level 1
A safe technique for dropping from lower heights, with proper body posture and precise control.

Ratcheting
Learn how to work with shorter pedal strokes (ratcheting)—an important technique with many applications.

Cycling on boardwalks
Learn tips for better balance and control on narrower boardwalks and over your boardwalk.

Downhill Braking Techniques – Level 2
Here’s how to use your brakes on steeper slopes for maximum control without locking the wheels.

Trail Riding in Practice
Final ride back to the store, focusing on riding position, braking technique, front-wheel lifts, turns, and easy climbs.
