This is the course for you if you want to get off to a safe and fun start in mountain biking! Under the guidance of our experienced instructors, you’ll learn the most important basics to help you feel safe, relaxed, and have fun on your bike—both on gravel roads and easier trails.

We focus on developing the proper starting position, balance, and control—so that right from the start, you’ll have a solid technical foundation that makes cycling both safer and more fun. You’ll notice how much easier it becomes to brake, steer, and navigate small obstacles once you’ve mastered the technique.

Our instructors tailor the level to the participants and ensure that everyone receives the help and feedback they need to progress at their own pace.

What You'll Learn

Basic Position & Balance
How to position yourself and move on the bike to gain better control and stability.

Braking Techniques on Flat Ground
Proper brake distribution, body position, and finger technique for safe and effective braking.

Technique for Descending Smaller Ledges
How to shift your center of gravity and descend easier ledges with balance and control.

Lifting the Front Wheel – Level 1 Obstacles
Learn the technique for lifting the front wheel over small obstacles on the trail.

Braking Techniques on Downhill Sections – Level 1
Here’s how to brake safely on relatively steep sections without losing control.

Trail Riding in Practice
We’ll wrap up with a group ride back to the store, where we’ll put everything you’ve learned into practice: riding position, braking technique, and navigating obstacles on real terrain.
